Located in West Shinjuku, the building also called the Tochō for short, is the headquarters of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Designed by architect Kenzo Tange, built between ’88-’90, this is the tallest city hall in the world at 242.9 meters. The two observation decks at 202 meters are open for the public for free and with much shorter queues than the more popular Tokyo Tower (decks at 150m & 250m) or the Skytree (decks at 350m & 450m). Both of these you can be seen on the pictures taken from Tochō.
