Meiji Jingu is a Shinto shrine in Shibuya, Tokyo that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shōken.
Construction began in 1915, and the shrine was built in the traditional nagare-zuruki style using primarily Japanese cypress and copper and took a decade to finish it completely. The original building was destroyed during WW II, the present form of the shrine was completed in 1958.
